Who should complete this course?
The expected audience for this course is teachers who are working towards infusing the Habits of Mind into their curriculum design process in a deep and sustainable way.
Additionally there is significant support material for professional developers wishing to use this course in their schools.
This course is particularly supportive when taken in conjunction with, or immediately following, face to face professional learning. Prior Learning
Course 3 Curriculum Infusion: Outcomes or equivalent professional learning is required prior learning.
Learning Outcomes
At the completion of this course you will be familiar with:
- The Backward Design Process as described by Wiggins and Mc Tighe
- How to design performance tasks that require mature and appropriate application of the Habits of Mind
- Designing lesson sequences to develop both Habits of Mind and content understanding.
By the end of Course 3 and 4 teachers will be developing complete units of work that apply the Backwards Design Process with an understanding of the Development of the Habits of Mind to produce learning experience for students that enhance both content and Habits of Mind outcomes.
