How to Gain Access to the online courses

Access to Course 1: Discovering Habits of Mind is available free by registering as a member of the Habits of Mind Teachers Network.

Access to the other Courses are available by subscription purchased through Mindful by Design or the Institute for Habits of Mind.

There are 4 Levels of Subscription.

Courses requiring subscription are still being developed. We welcome teacher contributions to the development of these courses. Prices for subscription will be made available when the course goes online. 

 

Individual Subscription

Individual subscriptions to the Online Learning modules are available through Mindful By Design or the Institute for Habits of Mind. This level of subscription is available for 10 weeks. You receive full access to the Learning Module and one invitation to the Module's Virtual Classroom.

The Virtual Classroom is mentored by Certified Trainer.

Teacher Developer / Mindful Mentor Licence

This licence is for 12 months. It is tailored for school level professional developers who have the responsibility for leading the work with Habits of Mind in their school. It includes:

  • Access for a team of up to 3 lead teachers to the Course and privileges as listed below.
  • Registration to Habits of Mind Teachers Network
  • Professional Developer notes in Modules. These notes accompany the course material and give suggestions and activities for staff professional development activities.
  • Full access to Habits of Mind Resource Library
  • Registration to Professional Developers Virtual Classroom. This connects you to other teachers in schools around the world who are similarly responsible for leading this work in their schools. This Virtual Classroom is mentored by James Anderson
  • DVD will all the resources in the module, including Video in format ready for your presentations, and copies of all the professional development material. No need to show the web site in your presentations. It’s all there on the DVD for you to modify and use.
  • Key Note and PowerPoint presentations ready for in-house use. These are “skeleton” presentations with all the basic information ready for you to modify for your context

Teacher Developer / Mindful Mentor Level access is granted with the understanding that the school will contribute to the Habits of Mind Teachers Network's growth by sharing resources, lessons, activities etc through the Habits of Mind Resource Library.

School Level Licence

This level of subscription is available for 12 months.

Individual registration to Habits of Mind Teachers Network for all teachers at the school

  • Up to 3 Teacher Developer Licences, including:
    • Professional Developers Notes in Modules
    • Registration to Professional Developers Virtual Classroom
    • DVD with all the resources in the Module, including videos in ready to use format
    • Key Note and PowerPoint presentations ready for in-house use
  • A school level Virtual Classroom. This allows for tailored professional learning opportunities for the school's teachers
  • Full access to Resource Library for all teachers

School Level Access is granted with the understanding that the school will contribute to the Habits of Mind Teachers Network's growth by sharing resources, lessons, activities etc through the Habits of Mind Resource Library.

Consultant / Reseller Licence

Are you a professional consultant to schools, or do you have a regional or system wide role in teacher professional development? If so, you may be eligible to purchase a Consultant / Resellers Licence.

The Online Courses are an excellent way to provide ongoing support to schools and teachers after you’ve worked with them. In addition, this level of licence grants you permission to use all the material on the site in your own presentations. When schools purchase the School Access licence you can continue to work with them through the Virtual Classroom.

Consultant / Reseller Licences are available to individuals who have demonstrated a sound understanding of, and commitment to, the Habits of Mind. You will be a contributor to the Habits of Mind Teacher Network site and also be consulting to schools.
